Meet Decant

Located in San Francisco, CA, Decant Editorial is run by the critically acclaimed novelist Joshua Mohr, his wife Leota and their daughter, Ava. We're excited to work with you!

Decant's founder and sole editor, Josh brings a wealth of experience (not to mention passion) to every project he works on.

Josh is the author of five novels, including “Damascus,” which The New York Times called “Beat-poet cool.”  He’s also written “Fight Song” and “Some Things that Meant the World to Me,” one of O Magazine’s Top 10 reads of 2009 and a San Francisco Chronicle best-seller, as well as “Termite Parade,” an Editors’ Choice on The New York Times Best Seller List.  His novel “All This Life” was recently published by Counterpoint/Soft Skull. He teaches in the MFA program at the University of San Francisco and Stanford. You can read more about Josh's books and check out all of his publications at

The obvious creative genius in the family. But be warned -- if your book doesn't have a strong Winnie-the-Pooh theme or tones of Good Night Moon, she probably won't pay too much attention to it.
