Meet Decant

Located in San Francisco, CA, Decant Editorial is run by the critically acclaimed author Joshua Mohr, his wife Leota, and their daughter, Ava. We're excited to work with you!

Joshua Mohr, Editor

Decant's founder and sole editor, Josh brings a wealth of experience (not to mention passion) to every project he works on.

Joshua Mohr is the author of the memoirs “Model Citizen” (2021) and "Sirens", as well as five novels including "Damascus", which The New York Times called "Beat-poet cool." He’s also written "Fight Song" and "Some Things that Meant the World to Me," one of O Magazine’s Top 10 reads of 2009 and a San Francisco Chronicle best-seller, as well as "Termite Parade," an Editors’ Choice in The New York Times. His novel "All This Life" won the Northern California Book Award. He has taught at the MFA program at the University of San Francisco and St. Mary’s College, and currently teaches at Stanford. Leota Mohr, Marketing

Leota handles the marketing and publicity side of things for Decant. Help a lady out by telling all of your writerly friends about Decant, and by signing up for Decant's monthly "Resources & Inspiration" (it's free!).

Ava Mohr, Intern

The obvious creative genius in the family. But be warned -- if your book doesn't have a strong Winnie-the-Pooh theme or tones of Good Night Moon, she probably won't pay too much attention to it.
