Life After Rough Draft: Demystifying the Revision Process
As novelists and memoirists, when we complete an initial pass the inevitable now what? sets in. We know the book is not finished, but how do we go about addressing all the narrative maladies? How do we turn a flawed first draft into something that can be published?
Join us for this 90-minute online class designed to teach revision techniques and principles.
The course will include the following:
- A 30-minute craft lecture: “Our Hideous Babies"
- A draft by draft revision guide that will help students reach their book’s finish line
- 2 guided writing prompts, emphasizing both concision and expansion of work-in-progress
As part of this class you'll also get access to Decant's private Facebook group for ongoing peer support and community building. Writing can be lonely -- when it’s just us and our C: Drives -- and we want to foster a writing community where we'll all have the necessary support to finish the next draft.
